21 May 2009 - Uganda day

Ronnie from Uganda taught us how to use drumming to pass messages from one village to another.  He is telling us here to play the drums louder by raising his hands.  We learned how to count to ten and a traditional Ugandan dance.

We tried on some traditional clothing.  They were a bit small for us!

Jane showed us the colourful material that was is used to make dresses.

We were shown many items from their everyday lives.  A pupil from class 3 is looking at an iron.  It is very similar to the irons we would have used before we had electricity.

The whole school pose with Ronnie. At the front are some of the ornate drums he bought with him for us to play.

Class 1 children practice their drumming skills!
